Minjun (“Christine”) Wang, LPCC
HI, I am Minjun (“Christine”) Wang, M.S., a licensed psychotherapist in San Francisco Bay Area. I have 9+ years of experience helping professional women with chronic anxiety heal and transform relationships with significant others and themselves. Helping women in modern society develop self-confidence, improve communication skills and navigate relationships is what I do best.
Born and raised in Mainland China and attaining higher education in my young adulthood in U.S. gave me precious exposure to unavoidable cultural clashes. In addition, I was confronted by challenges inherent in meeting those competing demands caused by all the roles I have taken on over the years, like a teacher, a trilingual / bicultural therapist, a daughter, a sister, a partner, a mother, a friend, a colleague, a trainer, an entrepreneur, etc.. All these have led to my professional passion and interest in decoding the cultural “shoulds” and figuring out how to mitigate the deep-seated anxiety that non-compliance has caused people who refuse to be defined and confined by those established rules.
Of course, being a female in a patriarchal (“male-dominated”) society didn’t make it easier. The society has a vested interest in promoting being heavily service-oriented in women while discouraging everything else that may impede their availability to other-care.
My clients experienced them all: double standards in personal and professional lives; expected to all nurturing and giving/forgiving to others but themselves; told to be truthful but get punished for being “blunt”, etc. You name it, they went through it. If you can relate here, probably you can understand how painful it is to lose yourself / your voice and how humiliating to settle for less.
Today, if you are tired of being treated like nobody, if you are sick of being confused about what healthy relationships look like, if you are done with losing your voice as if you never got one, seeking clarity, cultivating your inner strengths, and reclaiming your uniqueness and well-being can be a way out.
This may sound very abstract to many people. Simply put, If some voice told you that you can’t, we go dig it up and deal with it; if some unresolved business is holding you back, we do what it takes to get you heal from the past; if your communication style often makes you feel misunderstood, we dissect the most effective communication skills and help you get yourself across with confidence. if you have a hard time speaking up for yourself, we help you nail your OWN style to self-advocate.
Many satisfied clients of mine shared that the perfect time for them to start working through their struggles was the moment they had enough. When their determination met with my relationship expertise, their efforts got well paid off and they experienced exponential growth in their lives.
It is my honor to be part of their journeys and witness their miracles. If their experiences resonate with you, you might have spent some time re-evaluating some of your practices that get you here. It is true that healthy relationships are not easy to come by. But good news is , they are real and achievable if you make room for growth. Let me be part of your team so that you can become someone you identify with and enjoy healthy relationships with ease, peace and confidence in the near future.
